The second volume of the Acridoidea Fauna of China only included of Catantopidae, 335 species have been recorded from China. They belong to 95 genera which are grouped into 17 subfamilies as follows: Dericorythinae comprised of 1 genus and species; Tristrinae, 2 genera and 6 species; Oxyinae, 15 genera and 42 species; Caryandinae, 2 genera and 6 species; Pseudoptygonotinae, 2 genera and 7 species; Melanoplinae, 9 genera and 26 species; Podisminae; 19 genera and 70 species; Conophyminae, 10 genera and 44 species; Cyrtacanthacridinae, 6 genera and 10 species, Coptacridinae, 11 genera and 38 species; Catantopinae, 3 genera and 8 species; Calliptaminae, 2 genera and 6 species; Eyprepocnemidinae, 5 genera and 13 species; Habrocneminae, 4 genera and 12 species; as well as Ranacridinae, 1 genus and 1 species.

The species belong to this family which are reported in China, in which if their antennae are club-shaped, such as Egnatius Stal or antennae ensiform such as Leptacris Walker, Carsula Stal, Xenacanthippus Miller etc. are transterred to Gomphoceridae and Acrididae respectively.
