Sixty-seven scientists and engineers from many countries attended the three-day Symposium which was held on the campus o f Shandong College of Oceanography in Qingdao, Nov. of 1986. After the conclusion of the Symposium , the ad hoc Committee took on the responsibility of technical review and aditing of the papers .
