This book is an English version of “The Chemical Compositions of Crust and Rocks in the Eastern Part of China”(in Chinese ;Beijing :Science Press,1997)which focuses on data of the chemical compositions of the continental crust and rocks in the eastern part of China .
This book is benefited from the developments of regional geology ,regional geochemistry ,GGTs and analytical techniques in China .A total of 28253 individual rock samples are systematically collected from about 500 standard stratigraphic profiles and over 800 intrusive and metamorphic rock bodies in the eastern part of China covering an area of about 3.3 million km2(to the east of 1050E).Then these samples are combines into 2718 composite samples and 150 larger samples for analyses with 15 reliable methods .For all 2718 composite samples ,the contents of 14 major and minor components and 50 trace ,subtrace and rare earth elements are systematically determined .Some of trace elements (i.e.Ag,As,Ge,Mo,Sb,Se,Sn,W, especially Au,Pd and Pt) have never been subjected to systematic analysis in previous chemical composition studies of regional crust and rockes. For 150 large composite samples combined from 2718 composite samples according to rock types of geotectonic units ,the contents of 14 trace and subtrace elements N,Br,I,In,Te,Pr,Dy,Ho,Er, Tm, Os, Ru,Rh and Ir are determined .For 10 samples of larges composite samples, the content of Re is analyzed .It is thus unprecedented to have abundance of the continental crust and rocks for all chemical elements except inert gas and unstable elements.
