1. China Environment Yearbook--2008(English), a condensed version of China Environment Yearbook--2008(Chinese), is a big reference book and the collection of the information, data and experience about the cause of environmental protection in China. China Environment Yearbook (2008) mainly describes the work in 2007 with certain reflection of major activities of environmental Protection in 2008.

The aim and objectives of China Environment Yearbook--2008(English) are collecting the information and data concerning environmental protection at all levels and in an all round way, which provides a reference to leaders at all levels, environmental professionals and workers in each sector and industry as well as those from environmental protection field, teachers and students of universities and colleges as well as international friends who are engaged in the exchange and study on the experience in and laws on the experience in and laws on harmonious development between economy and environmental protection in a bid to continuously facilitate healthy development of the cause of China's environmental protection. Meanwhile, this Yearbook is also a big professional English reference book on environmental prtection.
3. There are 29 basic columns in the China Environment Yearbook-- 2008(English Editon) with top margin set in each column. The whole book is arranged according to the contents and regions and based on entry. The entry is marked by [ ] .
4. The specially invited deitors chosen by the State Environmental Protection Administration, each ministry and commission under the State Council, each industry, each province, municipality and autonomous region take charge the compilation of the article of relevant columns, types and chapters. There articles are then subject to the review of the members of the Editorial Board or regions before the final compilation by the Editorial Board. Therefore, various information and data are quite accurate and reliable.
5. Readers of this book are welcome to present their comments and suggestions on the compilation and publishing of China Environment Yearbook(English) as such comments and suggestions will make the contents of future China Environment Yearbook (English) more appropriate, brief,standardized and meeting the requirements of readers.-
