【Introduction】
The Chinese-English Dictionary of Traditional Chinese Medicine includes about 10, 000 commonly-used traditional Chinese medical terms on such subjects as Fundamentals of TCM, Diagnostics of TCM, Chinese Materia Medica, Formulae of TCM, Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Traditional Chinese International Medicine, and Medical History. This dictionary also includes several appendices concerning many other subjects, for example, the names of acupuncture and moxibustion points. All terms are carefully chosen so as to make them comprehensive, practical, accurate and unitary. In order to make them concise and easily understood in English, the English translation of the terms contained in the dictionary is done in three different ways, namely word-for-word translation, paraphrase and transliteration.
