Fronts and mesoscale disturbances associated are main weather systems that frequently trigger rainstorms and sometimes cause ruinous disasters in China. The research focusing on the development and evolution for those catastrophic weather systems becomes an overarching objective. The implementation of the research activities involving in frontal dynamics and the development of the mesoscale disturbances has been indeed carried out for years (1999-2003) and their main theoretical frameworks, and most importantly, the emerging prospect in present achievement are summarily demonstrated in this book in which the main context could be logically divided into two parts.
