The early Tertiary Strata, attaining 4000-5000m. in thicknessm are well developed in the coastal region of Bohai. The charophytes described in this paper were obtained from the Kongdian zu (formation), the Shahejie zu and the Dongying Zu . They contain 24 genera and 92 species, including 2 new genera, 51 new species and new varieties. According to their stratigraphical distribution, three charophytes assemblages together with three sub-assemblages and their corresponding geological ages are proposed in ascending order…
