In this volume, all species of edible fungi are described by mycologists from different provinces of China. Each species is recorded with its morphological characteristics, ecological habitats, economic value, geographical distribution and the techniques for mushroom cultivation if necessary or possible.

The total number of edible fungal species introduced in this volume amounts to over 567 distributed among 167 genera.
