Since 1980s, the research of derived from coal caused great interests of the organic geochemists for both home and abroad. It is necessary to strengthen the study of formation environment and hydrocarbon generation mechanism of oil derived from coal. The purpose of the book is to study the geological conditions and the hydrocarbon generation mechanism of the coal-derived oil fields, so that to provide the scientific basis for the exploration of the coal-derived oil resources. Our assumptions about the study are: through the detailed study of the Turpan Oilfield and some coal-oil coexist places, find out the forming environments of oil derived from coal in the natural world; investigate the geochemical conditions and characteristics of hydrocarbon generation, especially oil generation during the coalification; and there strict factors of migration , accumulation and reservoir formation conditions. Use different kinds of simulation experiments at the same time and combine with the study of organic structural chemistry, reveal the oil generation mechanisms.
