The Chinese lady beetles belonging to the subfamily Coccinellinae (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) are reviewed. After brief introduction to the biology and collecting and rearing methods, 4 tribes, 37 genera and 165 valid described species are recognised. Each species is diagnosed and described, and 153 species are provided with colour pictures. Ninety three of them are provided with ecological pictures and 46 species with pictures of immature stage. Tew new synonymies and 6 new combinations are proposed, and 11 species are as new records to China.
