The diagnostic characters of the important blood-sucking midges, Genus Lasiohelea Kieffer, 1921, previously assigned to the subfamily Forcipomyiinae are reviewed and we suggested the Lasiohelea Kieffer be resume to its original generic status. Forty three species of Lasiohelea are recorded from Southeast Asia. A taxonomic key is given for the identification of adults. For each species there are description, distribution and Southeast Asia locality records. The following twenty seven new species are described: Lasiohelea angyria, L. araea, L. bernicla, L. bidenta, L. bifdipenis, L. binifoliaceus, L. bispica, L. bonasa, L. borneoensis, L.chiengmai, L. collessi, L. ficula, L. forficula, L. latifolia, L. lepta, L. longipalpula, L. luzona, L.ostiola, L. oxypenis, L. pensiledentia, L. rhamphis, L. stellaris, L. tambunana, L. tawauensis, L. tenuidentis, L. tokunaga, and L. wirhi.
