本书通过对四川盆地及其周边地区40多个钻井岩芯以及地表露头资料生物地层学研究,厘定了扬子区奥陶纪末期一志留纪初期笔石带的划分,综述了扬子区及全球奥陶纪末期一志留纪初黑色页岩的分布与特征,及其各项含气指标的变化、有机质的富集、物理指标分布规律、与斑脱岩分布的关系等,建立了扬子区与世界其他主要地区含页岩气地层的高精度对比关系;证实了龙马溪组黑色页岩在上扬子黔渝地区的阶段展布模式和中扬子宜昌上升范围内的圈层展布模式,论证了扬子区奥陶纪末期一志留纪初期的页岩气都产自五峰组第2个至龙马溪组第6个笔石带内,直接指导了扬子区页岩气的勘探与开发,为我国大力实施页岩气能源战略提供了科学支撑,也是基础研究应用于国民经济主战场的重要实践。
