In recent years,the Asia—Pacific area has witnessed great development in the fields of aeronautics andastronautics.To further accelerate the advancement and provide an efficient communication platform forresearchers and industry engineers,the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics(CSAA),theKorean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences(KSAS),the Japan Society for Aeronautical and SpaceSciences(JSASS)and the Royal Aeronautical Society—Australian Division(RAeS Australian Division)havemade a j oint endeavor to hold a series of Asia—Pacific International Symposia on Aerospace Technology(APISAT)since 2009.Being a series of annual symposia,APISAT has been held in the countries of the four C0—organizers inturn.After the success of APISAT2009 in Japan,CSAA has the great honor to host APISAT2010 in Xi’an,Shaanxi province,China from September l3 t0 15,2010.CSAA is pleased tO take this opportunity toserve researchers and industry engineers working with aerospace technology in Asia—Pacific nations.APISA T2010 has drawn much attention from the aerospace community and gained strong supportsfrom all C0—organizing societies.The International Program Committee received 392 abstracts and accepted292 0f them after peer reviews.As the archive of a comprehensive symposium on aerospace technology,the proceedings cover the design of flight vehicles(including helicopters,unmanned aerial vehicles andsatellites),aer0—engines and spacecraft propulsions,aerodynamics,computational fluid mechanics,windtunnel testin9,aer0—acoustics,aer0—elasticity,guidance and control,navigation and communication,airtraffic control,flight simulation,structure analysis and testin9,materials and composites,etc.Thesymposium aims tO provide a wide range of information in the advancement of aerospace technology.We take this opportunity to extend the most sincere gratitude to the C0~organizing societies,Northwestern Polytechnical University as a local organizer,all sponsors and working staff for their greatcontributions to the success of APISAT 2010.
