臺灣石珊瑚誌為作者從事臺灣海域石珊瑚研究近三十年的成果總結。臺灣鄰近全球海洋生物多樣性最高的『珊瑚大三角』(Coral Triangle) ，海域有豐富的珊瑚資源，作者歷年來在臺灣海域從事潛水調查，從我國領海最南端的南沙、東沙群島，至最北端的彭佳嶼、棉花嶼及花瓶嶼等北方三島，記錄各類 珊瑚的精美生態照片，輔以實驗室內拍攝的珊瑚骨骼顯微照片，並且依據分子親緣研究建立最新分類系統，將臺灣海域產的石珊瑚做了詳細描述和分類，集結為二冊；第一冊為複雜類群，含6科20屬143種；第二冊為堅實類群，含6科47屬138種；總共報導臺灣海域的石珊瑚類有12科67屬281種。本「臺灣石珊瑚誌」由國立臺灣大學出版，為國科會生物多樣性行動計畫的研究成果之一。
