This is one of the serial works which contains 5 volumes treating the coccinea-fauna of China and her neighboring areas.

In this work a total of 73 genera and 279 species of Asian Coccidae are recorded. With thorough descriptions and illustrations it makes a complete taxonomic system which establishes 4 subfamilies, 6 tribes and 10 subtribes. Among which 1 subfamily, 1 tribe and 4 subtribes are proposed as new. There are 44 genera and 104 species recorded in China, of which 1 genus and 5 species are new to science, 4 genera and 16 species are newly found in China. Besides, 2 genera and 6 species are newly synonymised, 25 new combinations are established as first time.

This work is useful and will be an important reference for the entomologists of China, Asia and the whole world.
