Since 1954, extensive investigations on flea fauna in the area of Qinghai-Xizang Plateau have being carried on and the specimens were accumulated. Up to date, 204 species and subspecies belonging to 48 genera and 7 families have been indentified. This book is the first monograph on flea fauna in this area.
The monograph is compsed of two parts: Classification and fauna. The first part listed the original references, collection on details, identification species morphological description and geographical distribution for each species or subspecies, with 651 figures of the key identification characters. The second part descripted natural geography of qinghai-Xizang Plateau, the composition of flea fauna and the relationship between the flea fauna and the host fauna.
