The Fracture Zone of Shandan Earthquake in 1954

This book offers an integrated research into geometry, kinematics, paleoearthquake, breakdown modes and formation cause from the perspectives of geography and geophysics, involving both systematic field investigation and Lab simulation study and focusing on combining quantitative research with qualitative one, surface with underground, local with non-local, and earthquake with structure. It offers an analysis of some surface fractures and deformations from the perspectives of geomorphology, lithology, tectonics and crust finestructure after Shandan Earthquake in 1954. It also analyzes the relationships between Shandan earthquake and Minqing earthquake, between Shandan earthquake and the earthquake if the northern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the environment-changing process for Shandan earthquake and Longshoushan Structure Plate. It illustrates that Alashan part of Longshoushan Structure Plate spreads slowly below the Hexi Corridor.
