The illustrated Important Wild Orchids in China本书为鉴定、识别我国主要野生兰科植物的工具书，也是植物画家以活体野生兰为描绘对象的手绘图鉴。全书主体包括概论、兰科植物的识另和中国主要野生兰各论三大部分。重点在第三章的各论部分，涉及学术价值、经济价植和观赏价值较高的我国主要野生兰，个别我国引种成功的国外闻名兰科植物种类共73属247种，以及一些重要的变种和品种。属的排列按拉丁属名的字母顺序，其描述内容包括：中文属名、拉丁属名、历史、分类和分布、模式种、生态类别、形态特征;大属见则附有亚属或分组的检索表或名单。每个种附有文字描述和一张以上的手绘标本图，其文字内容有：中名（和别名）、拉丁学名（和曾用学名）、组别（或亚属）、形态、花（果）期、产地和分布、生态、用途等。
