The series consists of seven monographic or synthetic maps relating to hydrocarbon resources prediction and distribution. These maps are the results of hydrocarbon exploration and petroleum geological researches during 1990s.
1.Map of the tectonics zoning of oil and gas provinces in China
China’s sea areas and continent is divided into northern Asian continental marginal plate, north plate, south plate and east Gondwana plate. These plates underwent the evolution processes of opening, closing and deformation, and finally formed inland stable structural domain, Tethys-Himalaya compressed structural domain and Marginal Pacific tectonic tensile structural domain. The map displays the basic structural framework of China, and the basin-mountain system as well as hydrocarbon zoning under its control.
2.Map of the types and distribution of oil and gas basins in China
The hydrocarbon basins is divided into passive continental marginal basin series, active continental marginal basin series and intracontinental basin series and 15types, with their distribution, geological textures and the control on sedimentation.
3.Map of the distribution of marine hydrocarbon resource in China
According to marine prototype basins, marine basins ore divided into subsiding burial, uplifted denudation, compress folded-fault, extensional block-fault and thermaldynamic metamorphic basin types. The map also shows the characteristics of basin formation hydrocarbon generation and poolforming of the marine basins as well as the distribution and potential of marine hydrocarbon resources.
4.Map of the distribution of coal-formation generated oil and gas resource in China
The map describes the characteristics of basin forming, hydrocarbon generation, pool forming of coal-oil-gas paragenetic basins, shows the distribution and potential of coal-formed oil and gas in Northwest China, Northeast china, South China, Qinghai-Tibet, East China and Chinese offshore.
5.Map of the distribution of coal-bed gas resource in China
This map shows the distribtion and potential of coal-bed adsorbed methane in Chinese coal basins.
6.Map of exploration results of oil and gas basins in China
This map displays the main achievements made in hydrocarbon exploration in 1990s and the distribution of oil and gas fields and reservoirs both regionally and vertically.
7.Map of hydrocarbon resource assessment and prediction in China
Hydrocarbon geological conditions of Chinese sedimentary basins are analysed, the hydrocarbon resource potential of the major 125basins are assessed in this map.
