It is not easy to subscribe to many journals for any a local research / experiment station. So to make it convenient to researchers, about 2500 abstracts have been collected and a literature database has been established for consulting. We could collect abstracts of papers from journals till July, 1992. Therefore, the safflower literature database does not include all the thesis abstracts related to safflower. The abstracts compiled in the collection are quoted from various journals of different styles, in spite that I made great efforts to rearrange, some forms of them still could not be stand.ardized. Furthermore, a considerable part of them are quoted from CAB (Commonwealth Agricultural Bureau), the output abstracts are all in capital letters, so, in the transitional process, some mistakes in technical vocabularies are not easy to avoid. This compilation of abstracts will be useful to many of the researchers of safflower.
