Bose Palaeolithic Site is a hand- axe- bearing site, which is found in Bose basin of Guangxi in South China. Thirty years have passed since it’s discovered in 1973. During this period, much field – work on the site has been done, and many researches have been carried out. Because of this, Bose site is attracting more and more attention from scholars at home and abroad. But no attempt is made so far for the proper typological analysis based on statistical methods. This book mainly gives a comprehensive report of the discoveries of Bose industry. A discussion and comparison of Bose site with other Lower Palaeolithic sites in South China, South and Southeast Asia are also presented in the book.
In the book we try our best to deal with the stone artifacts so that readers can understand what Bose stone site is. Types are classified mainly after Dr. Bhattacharya’ (1979) category, for this category, it seems to us, is fitter in classifying pebble tools.
