This is the first volume of the handbook of the birds of China which consists of two volumes

This handbook, in two parts, is designed to help you identify and know any bird you are likely to see and know in China
About 1288 species of birds are known so far in China (including in Chinese mainland, HongKong, Taiwan and some other islands). These species fall into two large natural groupings, the Non-passeriformes and the Passeriformes. The first volume of this book includes all the Non-passerine birds so far found in china totaling 574 species belonging to 55 families, 19 orders, and the second volume of this book includes all the Passeriformes birds so far found in China totaling 714 species belonging to 34 families.

For each of the species included in the handbook, the following topics are treated:

scientific name)
