The present volume deals with a faunal work of the living land gastropods collected from Zhejiang Province, China. A totally 111 species and subspecies are described, which belongs to 50 genera and subgenera, 19 families, in 1 Class, 2 subclass, 4 Orders.
The volume is divided into two parts: a comprehensive survey and a systematic description. In part one, the author outlines the historical review, morphology, systematic, chorology, biology and the importance of land gastropods. In part two, the author presents a full account of morphological features, biological characteristics, geographical distribution and economic use of species. The scientific names of a few species are discussed and revised, and the keys to all taxonomic categories are given. Moreover, the author sums up the main research of Farmland Molluscs from Zhejiang Province that published in China, and adds on new biological data to the important economic species.
