The present volume dealing with Veneridae fauna (Phyllusca, Class Bivalvia, Subclass Heterodonta, Order Veneroida, Superfamily Veneracea) of the China Seas. Mainly specimens is based upon the collection made by the Institute of Oceanology, Academic Sinica from the most northern sea, the Yalu River Estuary, to the southern most atea, the Xisha and Nansha Islands, between 1950-1990. A total of 88 species belonbing to 12 subfamily, 28 genera and 17 subgenera are described. A list of species and chart of geographical destribution is given on page 38-40.
