The present volume deals with a faunal work of the living land gastropods collected from Chinese land. A total of 200 species and subspecies are described, which belonging to 31 genera and subgenera in one family. Among them, 12 species are discovered and described as new to science.
The volume is divided into two parts: a comprehensive survey and a systematic description. In part one, the author outlines the historical review, morphology, systematics, chorology, biology and the importance of land gastropods. In part two, the author presents a full account of morphological features, biological characteristics, geographical distribution and economic use of species. The scientific names of a few species are discussed and revised, and the keys to all taxonomic categories are given. Moreover, the author sums up the main research of Bradybaenidae that published in China, and adds on new biological data to the important economic species.
