A total of 290 fish species and subspecies living in freshwater and estuaries have been recorded and/or collected in Guangxi, China. The fishes belong to 144 genera, 37 families and 15 orders.
Two primary parts in the present volume are given: 1) a comprehensive survey and 2) a systematic description.
In the comprehensive survey, the brief introduction of natural geography, brief history of investigation and research on the biology especially systematics of fishes, analysis of fish – fauna and zoogeography, sustainable use of fish natural stock, are included, respectively.
