Rhinotitan mongoliensis is member of titanothere perissodactyla, it lived in Asia in the late Eocene time. Their fossils have been extensively found in China in the provinces of Shanxi, Henan and Nei Monggol, and are particularly abundant in the latter region.

A team of the 1959 Sino-Soviet Paleontological Expedition excavated an amazingly rich collection of titanothere fossils at Ula Usu, Nei Monggol. The skeleton of Rhinotitan mongoliensis described in this monograph was one of the most interesting and best preserved specimens in the collection.

In the present paper the osteology and mycology of R. monogoliensisi are studied in detail with respect to the functional morphology. The phylogenetic and systematic position of the genus and species and their relationship with American titanotheres are discussed.
