Nanjing Architecture of the Republic of China

The period of Republic of China was a period of transition, in which the Chinese history evaluated from its classical stage to its modern stage. Having systematically and all-sidely presented the evolution from classical Chinese architecture to modern architecture, the architecture in Nanjing during that period could be viewed as material evidence and historical witness of the transition from the traditional Chinese art of architecture to the modern art of architecture and the creation of national architecture of brand new style, as well as the modernization of Chinese cities. A total of 491 photoes of architecture are including in the book, among which 23 are from the 30s of the 20th century.
