The book deals with the systematic studies on the subfamily Opiinae Cression of the family Braconidae (Hymenoptera) from China. it comprises two parts, namely general account and systematic account.
In the general account, which is divided into five chapters—the taxonomic history, morphology, biology and ecology, biological control and prospect for application, and methods for collecting, identifying and preserving the specimens are reviewed.
In the systematic account, 13 genera and 99 species are recognized from China, including 75 new species and 3 species that are recorded the first time from China. Keys are given to genera, subgenera and species in the book. Finally, a list of the known Chinese genera and species of the subfamily Opiinae with their distribution is provided. In the book 265 SEM photos and 76 figures are also provided.
