The book《The Woods of the Genus Larix from China》summarises research results on the genus, the larch wood, in the course of many years, studied by the author at the Institute of Wood Industry, Chinese Academy of Forestry. It consists of fourteen chapters. Chapter one is on the classification system of the Genus Larix, geographical distribution and forest types in the species of Larix. Chapter two is on the characteristics of fundamental wood structures. Chapter three is on the ultrastructure and formation of wood cell walls. Chapter four is on the characteristics of wood structures of the species and their groups. Chapter five is on the characteristics of wood stractures in relation to shrinkage and the cracks. Chapter six is on some anatomical factors and ultrastructures related to the permeability of liquids in the larch wood. Chapter seven is on fibre morphology, the pulping, and papermaking industry using the larch wood. Chapter eight is on chemical properties of the larch wood. Chapter ten is on the forest site type in growth region of Larix olgensis Henry. Chapter eleven is on the distribution of moisture for living treas of Larix olgensis Henry in three representative site types. Chapter twelve is on the variation of wood structure for Larix olgensis Henry in the different site types. Chapter thirteen is on the variation of wood physics and strangth for Larix olgensis Henry in the different site types. Chapter fourteen is on the discussion on raising wood productivity and wood qualities of Larix species.
