The Atlas of Forestry in China is a comprehensive collection of thematic maps on various aspects of forest resources and the development of forestry. The atlas contains 2 parts, the first being prefatory maps and the other thematic forest maps. There are altogether 141 maps of 34 types which fall into 5 categories, namely, national maps, maps of forest distribution in provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, maps about forestry enterprises and institutions, forestry case maps, and maps of nature reserves. Every map is explained sufficiently in words. In order to provide adequate information, some plates are inserted, and a few pictures of forest views and lists of species of fauna and flora subject to key protection by the state are attached at the end of the atlas
