The 32nd International Conference on High Energy Physics was held in the International Convention Center of Beijing from 16-22 August, 2004. The conference was organized under the aegis of C11 Commission of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics. The Institute of High Energy, the Chinese Academy of Science, hosted the conference. There were 900 participants from 42 countries. The conference employed the traditional format of the Rochester Conference Series. There were 13 parallel sessions running through the first three days, followed by three days of plenary sessions. In all, 296 parallel talks and 26 plenary talks were given. They were made accessible via World Web first to session conveners and plenary speakers and once the session started, to all the participants.
