The International Workshop on Reliability Engineering and Risk Management was held in Shanghai, China on Aug. 21-23, 2008. Around 30 invited participants from 8 countries attended the workshop and conducted fruitful discussions and communications. Wide consensus was reached on recent advancement in reliability and risk management and future work needed to be enhanced, resulting in a memorandum of the workshop.
Included in the present book are the keynote lectures, invited lectures and supplementary lectures, totally 21 papers and a memorandum as appendix. These papers cover the state-of-the-art of the wide topics from stochastic mechanics and theory and applications of reliability to risk analysis and management.
