This monograph is the summary of the senior author’s more than twenty years of research on the Yuzhou Flora from western Henan. The research primarily focuses on the floristic characters of major groups of the Flora, fossil sequence, evolutionary stages, division of fossil plant assemblage zones, ecology, and division and correlation of the strata. 56 species belonging to 12 genera of the Gigantopteris group were collected, of which there 8 new genera and 25 new species. Based on these data, the evolutionary trend and the environmental mechanism indicated by the leaf architecture and venation pattern of the Gigantopteridales are discussed.
