Part I discusses the geographical distribution of soils as the basis of delineation texture and delineation combination of soil map;comments upon the international trend of soil classification, the development and present situation of Chinese soil classification;simply describes the soil units in soil mapping units of Soil Map of China(1:4M);and expounds the mapping principles, characteristics of studied contents and expression of main contents in the map.
