The atlas, in a sense, is a sequel to the China Conservation Strategy. As a comprehensive work featuring natural protection, it deals systematically the country’s natural environments and resources, giving special attention to the temporal and spatial distribution of renewable continental and marine resources, including climate, soil and living beings, their mutually conditioning relationships and the current situation of their exploration and protection. While mirroring the positive results obtained in the protection and transformation of nature in this country, the atlas also shows the destruction caused by the irrational exploitation and utilization of natural resources.
The atlas consists of more than 100 maps dealing with special subjects, which are divided into 3 groups – the introductory maps, the maps of the protection of natural environments and natural resources and the maps of regional protection and natural resources.
