Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is a part of south China. Guangdong, Huan, Guizhou and Yunnan Provinces located on her east, north and west respectively. Democratic Republic of Vietnam situated on her southwest. Gui is her abbreviated name.

Guangxi is a part of southeast China continental margin, or western part of Circum Pacific tectonic region, or a section of Circum Pacific metallogenic belt. From Middle Proterozoic onwards, the frequent transgression and regression of sea, the complete sequences of stratigraphic horizons, the diversity of sedimentary lithofacies, the polycyclic tectonic movements, and the accompanying polycyclic magmatic activities and metallogeneses, all of these laid the foundation of prospective ore deposits. Mineral resources especially manganese, tin, other nonferrous metals and rare metals get important parts in the whole resources of the country. The study of some basic geological problems shed highlight both on board and abroad.
